Shredder works great, it’s pretty quiet which is surprising, no problems with it. The only negative is that it was already cracked when I took it out of the box.

ALMOST SILENT, REASONABLY PRICED AT $165.00. HAD SOME OUT OF THE BOX ISSUES. THE COVER WAS CRACKED….(I CHOSE TO OVERLOOK IT AS I WANTED TO AVOID HAVING TO TAKE THE DAY OFF TO STAY HOME TO RETURN IT)
AT START UP THE MACHINE OVER HEATED. ALL THE LIGHTS KEPT ON BLINKING ON AND OFF. AFTER COOLING DOWN AND RESTARTING, IT SEEMS TO WORK FINE.
THE LESSON I LEARNED WHEN MY EARLIER (BARELY USED) SHREDDER DIED WAS TO NEVER KEEP THE UNIT ON WHEN NOT IN USE. THIS PRODUCT HAS AN OFF SWITCH AND I FIND THAT USEFUL AND A PLUS.
IT ALSO HAS A METAL SENSOR IN THE FEED SLOT WHICH WHEN TOUCHED, DEACTIVATES THE MACHINE. GREAT FOR HOMES WITH KIDS I GUESS.
OVERALL, NOT A BAD PRICE FOR THE PRODUCT……I FEEL. NOW, LET’S SEE HOW LONG THIS ONE LASTS WITH ALL THE (UNNECESSARY?) BELLS AND WHISTELS.

I am not able to provide a long, in depth, review of this product. I have had it for one month. Even though I have purchased it for home use and have used it so little, I am happy with it’s performance so far. Did I need such an expensive unit? Maybe not, but after reading about it, I am hopeful I will never have to buy another one. I like the casters and the pull out bin. My former unit I had to lift off the head to empty it. Also it is larger then you may need for home use. I can live with that. I bought because of a gut feeling after reading up. Have not tried shredding a credit card or CD as yet, but I am sure it will perform if I give it the test. We’ll find out, over time, if I made a good decision.

The shredder works great. The crosscut is a little messy but well worth it. This shredder cuts credit cards with no problem. The first one I received was cracked and Amazon shipped another one quickly and refunded the shipping cost.
