This safe arrived with the thin plastic exension for the control panel broken, it will not open with default electronic code or bypass key. The safe was not packed with any real packing material. It makes me wonder what would have happened if I had put my lifes papers into this box and dropped it on the floor once. It is obvious that it cannot handle shipping. Since this is the second safe I have ordered through Amazon this month and the second one to arrive broken or not the advertised size I have to admit I am seriously disappointed since I have never had an issue with Amazon before now.

I was looking for a fire and water proof safe to store documents. For some reason this safe popped up in my search. It was my fault for not reading the details of this safe more carefully. So i have to say i was disappointed when i realized it was not fire proof and for sure not water proof as it has mounting holes in it. I would have returned it but my husband opened it and threw out the box before i got home. So now we have it. The safe seems a little dainty. All im storing in it is papers so i feel ok with using it even though its kinda small, however if you plan to store anything with extreme value in it then i would go with a heavier duty safe.

when i got it i found that it would not open for some reason. i jammed a butter knife in the top and wedged it open after using the key and i found that the door was pressing against the top of the safe and when you would shut it it would jam. but no worries it was pretty simple to loosen the door and adjust it. took me a couple tries however. for instance once the lock bars were not going deep enough and if you turned the knob to the right it would just open. but after i got through this it was relatively easy to set up and even changing the combination was simple when my brother got into it.

Purchased this for our 7 year old. Works as described. Easy to setup. Probably not the best safe for your big valuables unless you bolt it into something, but perfect for kids treasures.
