I got this paper shredder because it was relatively inexpensive but still does the better cross-cut shredding. I also like the way the bin pulls out, lengthwise instead of widthwise, which allows a more positive action in emptying and reloading. It is advertised as a twelve-page shredder but in all honesty, I don’t think that it does or is even good for that. Twelve pages is alot to shred at once and you would be inviting paper jams to occur (this isn’t a high-dollar, super-powerful shredder). For my purposes, I only have to shred a few pages at a time and the machine works fine for that. Actually, after I had purchased my machine, the Royal Machines CX12W Royal Machines CX12W latinum Series 12-Sheet Heavy Duty Cross-Cut Shredder with Auto Start/Stop 29152Q (White), I noticed that Amazon.com was also selling the Royal Machines CX14W Royal Machines CX14W 14-Sheet Medium Duty Cross-Cut Shredder with LCD Message Display and Casters 29153 which is the same machine as the one I bought but advertised as being able to shred fourteen pages instead of twelve. The CX14W is a few dollars more and I wished I would have seen it being sold at the website before I bought the one I have. The CX12W is a very attractive white and looks sleek and I was looking for something that had casters too. It has the same styling as Apple brand computer products and you would think it was made by Apple if you did’nt see the Royal Machine logo on it. All-in-all it is a good machine for the price if you are shredding papers selectively and not having to shred a whole bunch at a time.

It is quite sturdy but still looks nice in a home office. Works very well, but to feed the paper is not so easy. I think the ‘throat’ of this machine should be a little wider to allow easier access for feeding in the paper. Right now one has to pay attention the feed exactly.
