The opening is wide enough for envelopes, and it's a mayor hassle to almost impossible to get envelopes out without the key. I told an employee of mine if he could get the envelop out in a couple of hours he could keep it. He tried and couldn't. But the save had only a couple... I image if it was almost full he would be able to get a couple of the out. <br />So for the price, it good size, sturdy, great quality, looks good and good size on the inside SAFE.
