SentrySafe H2300 1/2 Hour FIRE-SAFE Waterproof Chest, 627 Cubic Inches, Silver Gray

The SentrySafe lock box is great. It’s strong, waterproof and fireproof and I do recommend this for storing important papers in your home.

This safe feels very durable. I didn’t have any problem opening and closing it. I think the problem that other people had with opening it is because they didn’t push down on the lid when they pull the latch. That is how you are supposed to do it, and it opens quite easily if you do that. That type of opening mechanism keeps my toddler out, too!
The lock seems kind of pointless. I don’t think it would deter a thief, but I don’t care about that – I just want the fire-resistant and waterproof features.
I was surprised how large it is when I received it. It perfectly holds 8.5 x 11 papers in it, but on the outside it is rather big. I don’t mind the size, but other people might. Despite its size, it isn’t too heavy, but it is heavy enough to keep my toddler from moving it around and playing with it.
Overall, it is a great product.

This little safe is perfect for my computer backup tapes and disks, as well as critical paperwork. It has plenty of room, and seals very well. Easy to use.

Good safe, fits under a bed so it’s easy to get out of the way. The opening mechanism is a bit tricky, which isn’t a bad thing for the purpose of the safe but it can take a few minutes to open it.

I bought this for my 77 year old grandfather. He has no trouble applying pressure to the lid to get the box to open. I looked specifically for a box with a secure latch even when the chest is left unlocked just in case he forgets to lock it.
It is heavier than I expected so I really do wish it had a handle. I read other reviews of similar products by SentrySafe which had me worried that the keys might get locked inside of the chest during shipment. I see now that this is impossible by the design of the lock, it just needs to be placed on a flat surface and apply gentle pressure. It will pop right open.
